Cloudflare is seeking a Network Deployment Engineer to support the build-out and expansion of its global network infrastructure. In this hybrid role based in Austin, Atlanta, Denver, or New York, you will collaborate with Cloudflare's Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and Network Engineering teams, as well as external vendors and partners including hardware vendors, datacenter providers, and ISPs, to maintain and improve the company's global infrastructure and execute aggressive network expansion plans. You will be responsible for developing and implementing consistent processes and visibility measurements for effective infrastructure management. This highly visible position requires deep technical understanding of datacenter infrastructure, physical networking, and foundational data analysis and project management capabilities. Key responsibilities include: - Collaborating with internal infrastructure, network engineering, and SRE teams - Creating documentation and managing remote contractors for datacenter installations and upgrades across 120+ global locations - Building rack elevations and coordinating with remote contractors on racking and cabling infrastructure globally - Coordinating cross-connect installations in support of physical network expansion - Defining, documenting, and implementing consistent processes across all regions - Identifying and implementing cutting-edge technology and automation solutions to improve deployment and maintenance of global infrastructure Required experience includes a minimum of 2 years in datacenter or Linux systems administration, Linux/Unix systems administration expertise, experience with configuration management tools (Saltstack, Chef, Puppet, or Ansible), network hardware administration, familiarity with datacenter operations, scripting capabilities for internal tools, and experience improving operational processes in rapidly changing environments. Desirable qualifications include a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or MIS; direct experience executing datacenter/infrastructure projects with multiple moving parts; experience with DCIM tools; and strong verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills.
