Saronic Technologies is seeking a Mission Operations Specialist to serve as the critical interface between autonomous surface vessels (ASVs) and DoD customers. This role combines technical field support, mission planning, and customer relationship management for cutting-edge maritime defense systems.
Key responsibilities include:
• On-site technical support during product integration, installation, commissioning, and operations at customer locations, troubleshooting complex issues with autonomous vessels and software systems
• System integration and interoperability work, ensuring ASVs seamlessly integrate into customer infrastructure and operational environments
• Customer training and documentation development, conducting workshops and creating user guides to educate partners on operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Remote technical support via communication tools and remote access, diagnosing issues and escalating complex problems to engineering teams
• Field testing and validation at partner locations, collecting performance data and providing feedback to engineering and design teams
• Customer relationship management and technical liaison work, building strong partnerships, understanding needs, gathering feedback, and advocating internally for customer requirements
• Mission planning and coordination with DoD customers, developing comprehensive mission plans considering route optimization, environmental conditions, and risk mitigation
• Real-time ASV operations and monitoring during missions, including vessel performance tracking, sensor data analysis, and contingency planning
• Data analysis and mission reporting, generating comprehensive reports with findings and recommendations for continuous improvement
• Compliance and safety oversight, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, DoD policies, and industry standards
• Travel coordination and logistics management for on-site visits
The role requires up to 50% travel domestically and internationally. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (advanced degree preferred), with minimum 3 years in field support or customer-facing technical roles with complex systems. Strong project coordination, leadership, organizational, and communication skills are essential. Physical requirements include ability to swim and tread water, lift 75 lbs., and spend extended periods on water. Prior Special Operations Forces (SOF) experience is a plus.
