Saronic Technologies is seeking a Mission Operations Specialist to serve as the critical interface between autonomous surface vessels (ASVs) and DoD customers. This role combines technical field support, mission planning, and program coordination for cutting-edge maritime defense platforms.
You will plan and execute ASV missions, provide on-site technical support during integration and operations with DoD partners, and coordinate projects and programs from concept through delivery. The position requires extensive travel (up to 80%) to customer and partner locations domestically and internationally.
Key responsibilities include: delivering on-site technical support during product integration, installation, commissioning, and operations; troubleshooting complex issues with autonomous vessels and systems; collaborating on system integration and interoperability with customer infrastructure; conducting customer training and developing technical documentation; providing remote support and diagnostics; participating in field testing and validation; building and maintaining strong customer relationships; identifying process and product improvements; coordinating travel logistics; developing comprehensive mission plans considering route optimization, environmental conditions, and risk mitigation; operating ASVs during missions while monitoring performance and sensor data in real time; analyzing mission data and generating reports; and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, DoD policies, and safety protocols.
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (advanced degree preferred) with minimum 3 years of field support or customer-facing technical experience with complex hardware/software systems. You should demonstrate project coordination and leadership capability, possess strong organizational and time management skills, and excel at cross-functional collaboration. Physical requirements include valid driver's license, ability to certify as "fit for work" (swimming/treading water proficiency, lifting up to 75 lbs., extended time on water), and comfort with frequent travel. Prior Special Operations Forces (SOF) experience is a plus.
