Saronic Technologies is seeking a Mission Operations Specialist to serve as the critical link between autonomous surface vessels (ASVs) and DoD customers. This role combines field operations, technical support, and program coordination for cutting-edge maritime defense platforms.
You will plan and execute ASV missions, providing on-site technical support during integration, commissioning, and ongoing operations with DoD partners. Responsibilities include troubleshooting complex technical issues, integrating vessels into customer systems, conducting operator training, and collecting field data to inform product improvements. You'll act as the primary technical liaison between customers and internal engineering teams, managing expectations and ensuring mission requirements are met.
Key duties include: operating ASVs during missions while monitoring performance and sensor data in real time; developing comprehensive mission plans considering route optimization, environmental conditions, and risk mitigation; providing both on-site and remote technical support; conducting field testing and validation; generating mission reports with actionable insights; ensuring compliance with DoD policies and safety protocols; and coordinating travel logistics for frequent customer visits.
This is a highly collaborative role requiring strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, and excellent communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will travel extensively (up to 80%) to partner and customer locations domestically and internationally.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; minimum 3 years in field support or customer-facing technical roles with complex systems; demonstrated project coordination and leadership; valid driver's license; ability to swim, tread water, lift 75 lbs, and spend extended periods on water. Prior Special Operations Forces (SOF) experience is preferred.
