Saronic Technologies is developing autonomous surface vessels (ASVs) for maritime defense operations. The Mission Operations Specialist bridges the gap between Saronic's engineering teams and Department of Defense partners, managing the full lifecycle of ASV deployments from integration through operational support.
You will plan and execute ASV missions, providing on-site technical support during customer integration, commissioning, and ongoing operations. This includes troubleshooting complex hardware and software issues, conducting system-level testing, and ensuring seamless interoperability between Saronic vessels and customer infrastructure. You'll operate ASVs during missions, monitor real-time vessel performance and sensor data, and implement contingency plans to maintain mission continuity.
Key responsibilities include developing comprehensive mission plans (considering route optimization, environmental conditions, and risk mitigation), conducting customer training on vessel operation and maintenance, collecting and analyzing mission data to generate actionable insights, and serving as the technical liaison between DoD partners and internal Saronic teams. You'll also coordinate travel logistics, ensure regulatory and safety compliance, and identify opportunities for product improvements based on field experience.
The role requires 3+ years in field support or customer-facing technical roles with complex systems, a bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science, strong project coordination skills, and excellent communication abilities. You must be willing to travel up to 80% domestically and internationally, operate company vehicles, and meet physical fitness requirements (swimming/treading water, lifting 75 lbs, extended time on water). Prior special operations forces (SOF) experience is a plus.
