ICEYE is seeking a Mission Delivery Engineer to join its Missions Line of Business in Lisbon, Portugal. You will own technical program delivery across ICEYE's growing portfolio of engineering programs, including space and connectivity projects with European agencies and intelligence-platform deployments for national customers. Reporting to the VP of Program Management with a dotted line to the Portugal CEO, you will work directly with leadership and serve as the critical interface between customers, product, and engineering teams.
Key responsibilities include:
**Program Planning & Control:** Own schedules, milestones, and work breakdown structures across assigned programs. Maintain visibility of the critical path and keep it honest. Track budgets, procurement status, and deliverables against plan, flagging deviations early with options rather than surprises. Maintain risk registers and drive mitigation actions to closure.
**Stakeholder & Reporting Rhythm:** Prepare and run reporting cadence including progress reports, milestone reviews, and steering meetings with customers, agencies, and partners. Produce clear, decision-ready material for internal leadership and external stakeholders. Coordinate across ICEYE entities and external suppliers, managing dependencies across time zones and organizations. Act as the interface between customer and product, surfacing requirement gaps before they become delivery risks.
**Programme Operations:** Own documentation, configuration, and action tracking for reviews and formal gates. Support contract administration including deliverable acceptance, milestone evidence, and change requests. Continuously improve planning and reporting processes, keeping tooling light and useful.
The role is hybrid (3 days per week in office) and requires eligibility and ability to attain relevant national and NATO security clearances.
**Requirements:**
- 3+ years in technical project or program management within engineering, space, telecom, defence, or similarly demanding domains
- Proven ability to run schedule, risk, and budget tracking on multi-team technical projects
- Excellent written reporting skills; ability to produce material that senior stakeholders and agencies act on
- Organized, proactive, and comfortable chasing dependencies across teams and companies
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Based in or willing to relocate to Lisbon
- Must be eligible and able to attain relevant national and NATO security clearances
**Nice to have:**
- Experience with ESA or other institutional space programs (reviews, deliverable documentation, milestone gates)
- Experience across full program lifecycle: shaping initial ideas/bid management, execution through delivery, and formal closure
- PMP, PRINCE2, or agile certification
- Engineering degree or technical background enabling credible dialogue with engineers
- Experience in startup or scale-up environment
- Portuguese language skills
