PDI Technologies is seeking a Mid-Level Data Analyst to design, develop, and deliver custom reporting and analytics solutions for customers in the Convenience Retail and Major Oil verticals. This role serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for these business verticals and their analytics needs, interfacing directly with customers to understand requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
• Building audience segments for targeted communications across Email, SMS, and push messaging campaigns
• Managing audience transfers to Salesforce Marketing Cloud in collaboration with the CRM team
• Serving as SME for Convenience Retail and Major Oil verticals, guided analytics solutions, and custom analytics
• Supporting reporting and analytics for mobile payments across fuel and convenience retail, including dashboards and metrics tracking adoption, transactions, and program performance
• Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations in Sigma Computing and Power BI
• Writing and tuning SQL (T-SQL and Spark SQL) to prepare, transform, and validate data
• Interfacing with customers to understand needs and translate them into technical requirements
• Researching and resolving data issues and discrepancies in reports
• Creating one-time reports and data extracts as requested
• Building new reports independently with strong understanding of underlying data structures
• Adding analytical insight and analysis to distributed reports
The role works cross-functionally with analytics, marketing, business leaders, developers, architects, project managers, and stakeholders. You will oversee external resources to ensure timely delivery and maintain BI solutions for optimal performance on the Azure data platform.
Requirements:
• 3–5 years of BI/Analytics experience
• 3–5 years on a BI or analytics team with strong understanding of BI principles, architecture, best practices, processes, and standards
• Strong knowledge of SQL, including T-SQL (SQL Server / Synapse) and Spark SQL (Databricks)
• Hands-on experience with Sigma Computing and Power BI (including DAX); exposure to Tableau a plus
• Working knowledge of the Azure data platform (Azure Synapse, Databricks, ADLS Gen2) and SQL Server
• Exposure to ETL/orchestration tools such as Azure Data Factory and Databricks Workflows (Jobs)
• Exposure to payments or mobile payments data (e.g., transaction and authorization data) a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to automate manual and repetitive processes
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong self-starter with high learning agility

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
