Finch is building software infrastructure to make legal services radically more accessible, starting with personal injury law. The company automates administrative work in pre-litigation processes—intake, claim opening, medical records, lien management, and demands—while keeping humans leading every case. Backed by Sequoia and Redpoint, Finch has grown 10x in just over a year and raised a $20M Series A. As a Member of Technical Staff, you will own critical features end-to-end in a full-stack role where your decisions matter from day one. You'll build reliable, performant systems across core workflows using Python/Django, React, and AWS. You'll ship AI-powered functionality that transforms legal complexity into clear, usable software for law firms. You'll collaborate directly with product, ops, and design to define what gets built and why, and help shape the technical team's culture, standards, and practices while the company is still small enough for it to matter. This role is for engineers who want real ownership over outcomes. The scope will grow as the company scales. You'll work in a codebase where your architectural decisions and code quality have immediate impact. The company values full-stack ownership and fast shipping in an evolving product environment. The role is 4 days per week in the NYC office (hybrid, not remote-first). REQUIREMENTS: - 3+ years building reliable, secure software in production - Full-stack experience across frontend and backend - Proficiency in Python and React, or demonstrably fast at picking up new stacks - Track record of writing clean, testable, maintainable code NICE-TO-HAVES: - Experience with Django, AWS, or OpenAI APIs - Prior work at an early-stage startup where you helped set engineering standards - Familiarity with legal tech, document processing, or data-heavy workflows
