Capy is building an AI software engineer that handles real development work—taking threads from Slack, Linear, or the web, making code changes on cloud or local machines, opening PRs, and managing CI and review feedback until merge. The company is Y Combinator-backed, early-stage, and shipping to production teams daily. As a Member of Growth Staff, you'll own the full growth funnel: getting developers to discover Capy, try it, and bring their team. This is a hybrid engineering and growth role requiring both technical depth and customer empathy. Key responsibilities: - Build growth infrastructure: outreach and lifecycle automation, enrichment pipelines, landing pages, onboarding flows, demos, integrations, scrapers, and internal dashboards—many powered by Capy agents themselves. - Conduct extensive customer research: onboarding calls, feedback sessions, and check-ins with teams using Capy daily. You'll identify adoption drivers, friction points, and expansion triggers. - Create content: articles, videos, demos, launch videos, comparisons, and benchmarks showcasing Capy and workflows built with it. - Run developer events end-to-end: hackathons, meetups, dinners, workshops with partner communities. Own everything from partner coordination and venue to post-event conversion. - Instrument and optimize the entire funnel: track how developers find Capy, what they see first, time to first merged PR, and team expansion drivers. - Run weekly experiments: ship, measure, iterate, kill what doesn't work. - Execute growth stunts and launch moments that generate buzz. You'll switch between shipping code, customer calls, and filming demos in a single day. Success is measured by revenue leverage and the ability to move the needle quickly. REQUIREMENTS: - Technical: can build pages, wire APIs, query databases, write automation, and ship working prototypes independently without waiting on engineers. - Hacker mentality: side projects, experimental mindset, shipped products with real users. - Agent-native: already use Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar; want to orchestrate agent fleets on growth problems. - Excellent with people: enjoy customer conversations, skilled at extracting real developer pain points, people want to help you. - Creator: can write articles developers finish and produce videos that demonstrate rather than describe. - Organized: can run events for 100+ developers without chaos; meticulous follow-up. - Data-driven: distinguish vanity metrics from revenue-driving metrics; set up proper tracking. - Based in San Francisco: in-office requirement. NICE TO HAVE: - Prior developer-focused growth experience (devtools, infrastructure, open source, API products). - Event experience running developer hackathons, meetups, or conferences. - Existing audience or community (X, YouTube, newsletter, Discord, GitHub). - Hands-on outreach tooling experience (enrichment, sequencing, CRM automation). - Video and design skills. - Founder or early-employee background.
