OpenHealth is a fast-scaling healthtech venture building the data infrastructure layer for health AI. The company harmonizes fragmented health data—from diagnostic lab results to medical imaging—into clean, interoperable standards (HL7 FHIR, LOINC, SNOMED CT, DICOM) that hospitals, diagnostic groups, insurers, and governments can build on. Operating across roughly 10 countries in Europe and Latin America, OpenHealth works with partners like Roche and leading diagnostic and hospital networks, backed by $4M+ in venture capital from leading European health and tech VCs. In this role, you will own product modules end to end, from initial concept through live deployment and correctness validation. You will be responsible for care pathways, pharmacogenetics, and emerging features. The role requires deep ownership of edge cases and medical correctness—since the company operates in an area where trust is paramount, edge cases must be thoroughly thought through. You will be the person who can defend data and decisions in front of patients or payers. Key responsibilities include: - Owning product modules end to end, ensuring medical correctness and regulatory compliance - Working with LLMs and data properly, building agents and tooling for mapping, review, QA, and documentation - Pulling datasets, analyzing them independently, and identifying anomalies - Translating vague requirements into buildable specifications that engineering can execute and sales can sell - Collaborating with engineers on data models, APIs, and build complexity - Daily tasks: mapping reviews, general reviews, test cases, and end-to-end feature validation before shipping - Reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer / Chief Medical Officer in a flat hierarchy The team is distributed across Europe and Latin America. Communication is critical in this remote environment—clear, direct, and reachable communication is expected. Work runs through tickets, concept documents, recordings, and efficient meetings. The process is thin with plenty of ambiguity; feedback flows in both directions. REQUIREMENTS: - Medical or life science degree (medicine, pharmacy, biomedical science, biology, bioinformatics) - Academically strong; ability to read and understand scientific literature - Approximately 3–5 years of work experience - Interest in data and how to use it; familiarity with JSON, data models, and statistics - Fluent English; preference for candidates with CET timezone overlap (≥4 hours) - Preference for candidates based in DACH region, Spain, Portugal, or Latin America - Ownership mindset PLUS (nice-to-have): - Product management experience - Experience working with tech/engineering teams - Familiarity with LOINC, HL7, FHIR, or SNOMED - Startup experience - Commercial sense - Portuguese, Spanish, or German language skills - Knowledge of MDR, GDPR, or LGPD regulations
