WelbeHealth is seeking a Medicaid Enrollment Specialist to join the Marketing, Outreach, and Enrollment (MOE) team. This role is critical to WelbeHealth's PACE enrollment process, serving as a key touchpoint for prospective participants navigating Medicaid enrollment.
In this position, you will be responsible for successfully enrolling prospective participants in Medicaid by gathering necessary documentation, creating and submitting applications, and pursuing appeals as needed. You will visit seniors' homes to collect required documentation and maintain strong working relationships with the Department of Public and Social Services (DPSS) at the county level to ensure seamless enrollment workflows, adherence to deadlines, and compliance with DHCS and CMS guidelines and policies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Gathering all necessary documentation to create, submit, and appeal Medicaid enrollments for prospective participants
- Visiting seniors' homes as needed to collect documentation for complete applications
- Maintaining strong working relationships with county DPSS to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines
- Creating and conducting Medicaid enrollment events weekly at WelbeHealth centers, monthly at senior housing, hospitals, senior centers, and churches, and monthly virtual enrollment sessions
- Demonstrating in-depth knowledge of Medicaid rules, processes, and options including share of cost, spousal impoverishment protections, and appeals processes
You will provide backup and support to outreach and enrollment functions as assigned. This role offers the opportunity to directly impact vulnerable seniors' access to healthcare in an encouraging and supportive environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred; alternatively, five (5) years of relevant Medicaid enrollment experience may be substituted
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience working directly with county DPSS submitting, managing, and appealing Medicaid enrollments
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with complex Medicaid enrollment case management
