Fluidstack is building civilization-scale compute infrastructure for AI at gigawatt scale. The Materials Team Lead will oversee the MEP & Structural Procurement team responsible for acquiring and delivering physical equipment—electrical, cooling, power, and structural components—for data centers on schedule. You will lead a team of 4-5+ materials managers, setting priorities and coaching their expediting practices to ensure every open order has an owner and recovery plan. You'll personally handle the most critical vendor recoveries, expediting capital equipment orders with direct schedule consequences and renegotiating delivery commitments that the site schedule can absorb. You'll own the consolidated root-cause analysis and reporting rhythm to PMs and leadership, ensuring every delivery miss has documented cause, corrective action, and credible new date. Key responsibilities include managing 4-5+ suppliers, CMs, and ODMs across concurrent project sites to prevent lead-time and allocation collisions; reading engineering drawings and specs against orders to catch scope discrepancies before they become field problems; and traveling to vendor sites to verify production status and push recoveries in person when needed. The role demands a player-coach mindset: you run the team's rhythm while taking on the hardest recoveries yourself. You'll work in an environment that values extreme ownership, velocity, first-principles thinking, and intensity. Fluidstack operates across hardware and software to rethink every layer of the data center stack, with speed and scale as key differentiators.
