Saronic Technologies, founded in 2022 and headquartered in Austin, TX, is developing autonomous surface vessels for maritime defense. As Materials Supervisor, you will oversee all aspects of materials management for the production of these advanced autonomous platforms.
You will manage the complete procurement lifecycle—from supplier coordination and negotiation to receiving, inspection, and distribution of materials. You'll maintain efficient inventory control systems, track material usage against production schedules, and ensure all materials meet DoD and industry standards. This includes conducting regular quality inspections, managing certifications for military-grade materials, and coordinating logistics for timely delivery to production facilities.
You will supervise and mentor a team of material handlers and staff, providing guidance on best practices and fostering a culture of safety and compliance. You'll work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to support vessel development and manufacturing. Your responsibilities include maintaining detailed documentation, generating reports on inventory trends and material usage, and ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing materials handling and storage.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of materials management experience, preferably in defense, aerospace, or maritime industries. You should be proficient in materials management software (SAP, Oracle, or similar), familiar with DoD procurement procedures and military standards, and experienced with materials testing and certifications. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
