Salary: USD 90,000 - 140,000 / annual
Harbinger is an American commercial electric vehicle (EV) company transforming the medium-duty EV and hybrid market. As a Material Planner, you will be integral to manufacturing operations, ensuring efficient supply of components and raw materials to meet production needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Planning & Coordination: Collaborate with production teams to develop and optimize detailed supply plans aligned with customer demand and capacity constraints. Lead the MRP process, build and validate supply plans with suppliers, and work with Logistics Specialists to transform supply plans into transportation plans that minimize costs while ensuring adequate production coverage. Coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery of materials, components, and sub-assemblies. Monitor and adjust supply plans to accommodate changes in demand or operational requirements. Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to validate forecasts and adjust plans as necessary. Develop contingency plans to mitigate supply chain risks.
Inventory Management & Optimization: Maintain accurate inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods. Utilize ERP and inventory management systems to track stock levels, analyze usage patterns, and forecast future material needs. Implement strategies to minimize stock-outs, reduce excess inventory, and optimize inventory turnover.
Supplier Relationship Management: Hold suppliers accountable to defined supply plans and escalate deviations to buyers and management. Evaluate supplier performance based on on-time delivery, quality standards, and cost-effectiveness.
Inventory Control: Partner with the Warehouse team to ensure cycle counting per established schedules following ABC classes. Lead investigation and resolution of inventory discrepancies.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize production processes, reduce lead times, and enhance supply chain efficiency. Implement lean manufacturing principles and best practices. Lead or participate in cross-functional process improvement projects.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with procurement, logistics, quality assurance, and engineering teams. Provide timely updates on material availability, production status, and potential issues. Collaborate to resolve supply chain bottlenecks.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field
- 3-7 years proven experience in material planning, production scheduling, or supply chain management within automotive or manufacturing industry
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables)
- Experience in Engineering Change Management or New Product Introduction (required)
- Strong analytical abilities with focus on problem-solving in fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for internal and external collaboration
- Nice to have: Google Suite proficiency, Oracle Netsuite proficiency, Mandarin or Spanish language skills
