Relativity Space is building rockets to serve today's needs and tomorrow's breakthroughs. The Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting growing demand for launch capacity. The NDE (Non-Destructive Examination) Team is dedicated to ensuring product integrity while tackling challenges of novel manufacturing methods, developing and executing inspection of diverse materials and components using cutting-edge industry technology.
In this role, you will work closely with UT Specialist inspectors and NDE Engineers to develop and execute feasibility studies, Probability of Detection (POD) analyses, and qualification plans. You will develop, document, and publish part-specific ultrasonic inspection techniques for complex hardware, evaluate digital UT/PAUT data files for quality and accept/reject criteria, and develop comprehensive NDE techniques for a variety of complex parts. You will demonstrate in-depth comprehension and effective application of relevant NDE inspection plans, procedures, and techniques.
You must hold current Level II or III Certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT) inspection in an aerospace or nuclear setting, with proof of NDE classroom training and certificates per NAS 410 or SNT-TC-1A standards. You bring a minimum of 10 years total NDE experience, with at least 5 years in commercial aerospace manufacturing or other heavily regulated industries. You are proficient at reading and interpreting engineering work instructions and drawings. This is a hands-on technical role for an experienced inspector who can lead process development and quality assurance in a fast-moving aerospace manufacturing environment.
