Belong Health is a healthcare company that partners with regional payers to deliver Medicare Advantage and Special Needs Plan products, combining data-driven clinical intervention with empathetic patient experience for seniors and Medicare-eligible individuals. As Market Lead, Network Operations, you will be the primary driver of provider engagement and network performance for a new partnership launch in the Birmingham, Alabama metropolitan area. You will develop strategy and business plans to drive markets to profitability by identifying growth opportunities, strengthening partner performance, and improving medical cost outcomes. Key responsibilities include: - Managing initial engagement efforts and rollout of the new partnership to practices in the Birmingham area - Executing core operational workflows with partners consistently and effectively - Using data and analytics to develop and drive MLR (Medical Loss Ratio) initiatives - Deploying processes that drive membership growth with existing partners - Developing and maintaining strong relationships with provider organizations, physicians, and practice staff - Establishing working relationships with health plan partner network operations teams - Leading in-person and remote touchpoints with providers to review performance and cost management opportunities - Identifying and prioritizing provider needs; developing solutions that improve patient experience and reduce healthcare costs - Leveraging data and analytics to improve provider engagement and field deployment strategies - Serving as a key local resource as the Birmingham market is established This is a foundational role for a new market. The scope of responsibility, including whether the role carries direct reports, will be tailored to the experience level of the successful candidate and the growth pace in Alabama. Supervisory responsibilities may be added on an as-needed basis. Required: 3+ years in health plan, provider-side value-based care, healthcare consulting, or related setting. Bachelor's degree in Business or Psychology. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Understanding of healthcare industry, health plan economics, and provider motivations. Must reside in or frequently travel to Birmingham area (30-50% travel). Preferred: Healthcare and provider contracting experience. Graduate degree in Business, Public Health, or Health Administration.
