Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming military capabilities through advanced autonomous systems, AI, and computer vision. The Maritime team develops cutting-edge Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) platforms powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system for real-time command and control. As a Maritime Technical Operations Engineer, you will deploy globally to support customer-fielded AUV operations from various support vessels. You will lead hands-on troubleshooting, repair, operation, and maintenance of AUVs and associated equipment in demanding field conditions. You'll master AUV operations and subsystems, serving as a product expert in both hands-on and remote support scenarios, and drive complex technical problems involving hardware, software, and networking to resolution. You will liaise between customers, engineering, and operations teams to ensure high customer satisfaction and issue resolution. You'll support the creation, review, and execution of test plans during at-sea testing while collaborating with integration and test engineers. Your feedback to the product team will help rapidly mature the systems. Additionally, you'll collaborate on training development for initial customer deliveries and specialized follow-on trainings. You'll gather and integrate customer feedback into user documentation and training materials, and review and contribute to comprehensive user documentation covering all aspects of AUV operations, including user guides and mission planning guides. This role involves approximately 75% travel, including significant time offshore on vessels of all sizes. You'll be responsible for hands-on handling of AUV equipment in field and vessel environments, regularly lifting up to 25 kg. The role requires eligibility for NV2 security clearance and access to classified information. REQUIREMENTS: - 5+ years of experience operating at-sea robotic systems, ideally in a customer support role - Extensive hands-on technical experience (field operations, manufacturing, or test) - Strong aptitude for problem solving in unstructured situations at the interface of hardware, software, and networking - Proficient with AUV maintenance, operations, troubleshooting, and repair - Comfortable with Linux, command line interfaces, and software debugging - Strong computer and documentation experience - Highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong communication and customer management skills - Ability to lift up to 25 kg regularly in field and vessel environments - Willingness to work extended hours as required - Eligible for NV2 security clearance - Willingness to travel and support customer-facing operations approximately 75% of the time, including significant offshore vessel time PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, ocean engineering, or related discipline - Prior military or overseas contracting experience - Skilled in deck operations using ship-based cranes, A-frames, or dedicated AUV launch/recovery systems - Knowledgeable in electronics troubleshooting and test equipment use - Experience in training and qualifying users or junior staff - Experience with software development - Expertise in integrating subsea acoustic sensors, navigation, and communication systems - Knowledge of offshore HSE policies and best practices
