Anduril Industries is seeking a Maritime Technical Operations Engineer to join its Field Operations team supporting autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) platforms. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with global customer-facing operations in a fast-paced defense technology environment.
You will deploy globally to support customer-fielded AUV operations, serving as a product expert in troubleshooting, mission planning, repair, operation, and maintenance. Key responsibilities include leading field troubleshooting and repair of AUVs, mastering subsystem intricacies and educating others, liaising between customers and engineering teams for issue resolution, and collaborating on training development for customer deliveries. You'll gather customer feedback to improve documentation and training materials, and operate as the primary technical interface ensuring high customer satisfaction.
The role requires extensive hands-on technical experience with at-sea robotic systems, ideally in a customer support capacity. You must be comfortable with Linux, command-line interfaces, and software debugging, with strong problem-solving abilities in unstructured hardware-software-networking environments. The position involves global travel with rotations of 30-45+ days OCONUS in austere environments, requiring flexibility and extended working hours.
Required qualifications include 3+ years operating at-sea robotic systems, proficiency in AUV maintenance and troubleshooting, ability to lift 50 lbs, U.S. Coast Guard Medical Certificate eligibility, and ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or ocean engineering, prior military or overseas contracting experience, deck operations expertise, electronics troubleshooting skills, and experience training junior staff.
