Salary: USD 112,000 - 149,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is seeking a Maritime Technical Operations Engineer to join its Field Operations team supporting autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) platforms. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with global customer-facing operations in a fast-paced defense technology environment.
You will deploy globally to support customer-fielded AUV operations, serving as a product expert in troubleshooting, mission planning, repair, operation, and maintenance. Key responsibilities include leading field troubleshooting and repair of AUVs in austere environments, mastering AUV subsystems and educating others, liaising between customers and engineering teams for issue resolution, and collaborating on training development for customer deliveries. You'll gather customer feedback to improve documentation and training materials, and operate as the primary technical point of contact for deployed operations.
Required qualifications include 5+ years operating at-sea robotic systems (ideally in customer support), extensive hands-on technical experience in field operations or manufacturing, strong problem-solving skills in hardware/software/networking interfaces, proficiency with AUV maintenance and Linux/command-line tools, and willingness to travel for 30-45+ day OCONUS rotations. You must be able to pass a U.S. Coast Guard Medical Certificate, meet DFARS health requirements, and be eligible for a U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or ocean engineering, prior military or overseas contracting experience, deck operations expertise with ship-based systems, electronics troubleshooting skills, experience training junior staff, and knowledge of offshore HSE policies.
