Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The company's family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. Anduril's subsea robotics division, founded in 2018 by AUV industry experts, is fielding the next generation of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) to tackle seabed exploration. The team is executing multi-million-dollar contracts for the US Navy and DARPA while performing Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) commercial surveys. The division brings together over 100 years of combined AUV experience from organizations such as Liquid Robotics, Teledyne, Bluefin Robotics, Oceaneering, and the US Navy. As a Manufacturing Test Engineer, you will develop and implement high-fidelity, automated test procedures on both component and system levels. You'll work closely with engineering staff and skilled electro-mechanical technicians to advance testing capabilities and ensure the highest quality standards as the company scales production operations. Key responsibilities include: - Building a broad range of test capabilities across the manufacturing value stream, from system-level checkouts and acceptance testing to key component-level in-process validation - Developing, executing, and managing the test ecosystem to de-risk hardware and ensure products meet target reliability levels and design intent - Performing hands-on and data-driven root cause analysis of electromechanical subsystems using structured problem-solving methodologies - Designing and implementing semi-automated testing equipment and protocols for subsystem characterization and reliability/environmental testing - Collaborating with design and systems teams throughout product development cycles to perform risk assessments, maintain ownership of test deployment in production, oversee technician training, and address bug fixes and improvements - Producing and maintaining testing logs and data, developing libraries of error codes with troubleshooting logic and diagrams for fast issue resolution - Generating controlled test processes that can be easily followed by technician teams in MES or other test execution systems The role offers the opportunity to work in a highly dynamic, collaborative environment with an energetic and innovative team passionate about subsea robotics and ocean exploration. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience - 3+ years of experience in a relevant field, preferably test design of electro-mechanical hardware in a manufacturing environment - Experience in hardware testing and automated test systems - Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Matlab, SHELL, or others - Experience with computer hardware communication protocols: USB, Ethernet, RS232, RS485, PCIe, HDMI, CAN, etc. - Well versed with complex electromechanical systems and passionate about understanding what it takes to make them work reliably - Experience developing full system test plans and executing them on fast-paced product development timelines - Experience programming and testing a wide range of sensors, actuators, and electrical components - Ability to prototype and run your own tests, from experimental setup to hardware and software implementation - Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience in sub-sea robotics or AUV/UUV industries - Familiarity with Product Life Cycle (PLM) systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and Test Execution Systems (TES) - Demonstrated ability to learn new skills and adapt to new situations; unphased by challenges beyond traditional comfort zones; multidisciplinary approach to problem solving - Comfortable with high project ownership under technical and schedule pressure, particularly where scope and definition are limited - Experience testing and operating with or around hazardous systems (high voltage up to 400V) - Experience working on projects involving integration of electrical, mechanical, and software/firmware systems
