Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Manufacturing Process Development Engineer to join the Manufacturing Engineering team in Ohio. This role focuses on designing, optimizing, and implementing robust manufacturing processes for defense products, with emphasis on manual assembly operations, dispensing applications, and technical documentation.
You will design and optimize manual assembly processes for high-volume, low-mix production environments, maximizing efficiency, quality, and repeatability. Key responsibilities include developing comprehensive manufacturing work instructions and process documentation with clear visual aids, engineering and optimizing dispensing operations for adhesives, sealants, and thermal materials, and providing active lineside support during production to address process deviations quickly.
You will drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures. Collaboration with cross-functional teams—including design engineering, quality, and production—is essential to ensure manufacturability of new and existing products. You will evaluate and implement process improvements to reduce cycle time, minimize defects, and increase manufacturing efficiency, while developing and validating process parameters with clear control limits.
Additional responsibilities include supporting new product introductions by developing scalable manufacturing processes, participating in design reviews to provide manufacturing feedback, and utilizing AS9100 standards to drive process development and issue resolution.
Note: This role will be temporarily based in Santa Ana, CA for a 3-month training period on 2nd shift (3 PM–11:30 PM PT) before transitioning to Ashville, OH.
