Aerodyn Engineering seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead and develop project engineers across four departments: Manufacturing, Instrumentation, Testing, and Design. This is a senior leadership role responsible for setting standards for how engineering work is planned, quoted, and delivered company-wide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as senior technical and process authority for project engineers across all four engineering departments
- Develop and maintain customer relationships at a strategic level, supporting company-wide growth initiatives
- Oversee project workload and on-time delivery across all project engineers regardless of department
- Standardize and lead cross-departmental reporting and review cadences (Sales Status, S&S, Shipped Order Profitability, Job Closing Accuracy, To Be Quoted, Open Quote, Lessons Learned)
- Support project engineers in kickoff meetings and customer updates with consistent technical guidance
- Serve as primary liaison between departments for new product development, labor utilization, and cross-functional problem-solving
- Review high-complexity or high-risk quotes across departments for profitability and risk mitigation
- Maintain and drive adoption of QMS Lessons Learned Log across all departments
- Evaluate performance against budget and incentive goals across the engineering organization
- Review and approve purchase requests exceeding department manager authority
- Partner with Finance on budget and rate analysis across all engineering departments
- Build engineering talent through hiring input, training, mentorship, and performance development
- Provide guidance to project engineers and department managers to support professional growth
- Lead by example to build consistent, healthy engineering culture across departments
- Drive continuous improvement, R&D, and process development initiatives spanning multiple departments
- Participate in mandatory labor support as needed to meet customer and financial goals
The role offers company-wide visibility and influence over engineering operations, direct access to senior leadership, and responsibility for developing a broad bench of talented project engineers across multiple disciplines.
Shift: 1st Shift, Monday through Friday.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field
- 7+ years of experience in engineering and/or personnel management, ideally spanning multiple engineering disciplines or departments
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to problem-solve effectively across complex projects
- Highly motivated, self-directed, and comfortable operating independently and within team environments
- Customer-focused with ability to understand and respond to customer needs
- Strong PC skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Experience managing or coordinating across multiple departments or teams preferred
