Salary: USD 120,000 - 191,000 / annual
Heron Power is building cutting-edge power electronics for grid modernization, focusing on scalable inverters and rectifiers to connect large-scale renewables, storage, and loads. The company is led by veterans with a track record of designing and shipping gigawatts of power conversion products.
As Manufacturing Engineering Line Lead, you will own the end-to-end launch and scaling of high-volume production lines. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will drive manufacturing system development from concept through full production ramp, working across internal teams and external equipment integrators.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead specification, design, fabrication, testing, installation, and commissioning of manufacturing lines from RFQ through SOP
- Provide deep technical input on equipment design, working with product design, controls engineering, QA, and operations teams
- Manage complex relationships with equipment integrators and suppliers, enforcing design standards and maintaining schedule/cost targets
- Oversee FAT/SAT activities to ensure equipment meets functional, quality, and throughput requirements
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase OEE, reduce cycle time, and improve line reliability and first-pass yield
- Anticipate risks, resolve ambiguity early, and deliver creative solutions under pressure
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or related discipline
- 5+ years of full-time industry experience with high-volume manufacturing processes
- Proven track record launching mass production lines from concept through ramp
- Strong relationships with equipment suppliers and integrators in assembly, power electronics, battery, drive units, and similar sectors
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes: framing, fastening, welding, dispensing/sealing, material handling, inspection systems
- Expertise in station and fixture design, locating schemes, GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis
- Knowledge of high-volume conveyance and automation: indexed/free-flow pallets, AGV/AMR, lift-assist, multi-axis robots, gantries
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to distill complex issues into actionable plans
- Willingness to work hands-on, lead by example, and independently solve ambiguous problems
Nice-to-haves include PFMEA and DFM leadership, expertise in industrial painting/powder coating process development, and familiarity with medium-voltage electronics or grid products like transformers, switchgear, and circuit breakers.
