Salary: USD 111,000 - 166,000 / annual

The Prototype team is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for New Product Integration to join and take ownership of the manufacturing value chain for defense hardware, including static equipment, ground vehicles, and flight vehicles. You will be responsible for the full spectrum of manufacturing operations: design for manufacturability, tool design and selection, process creation and optimization, vendor sourcing and interaction, quality planning, and work documentation. Key responsibilities include: - Own a portion or all of the manufacturing value chain for assigned products - Develop novel tooling solutions for fabrication and assembly of structural parts - Create process flows, breaking down complex assemblies into logical part flows and sub-processes - Write manufacturing documentation including work instructions, quality plans, and inspection requirements - Partner with contract manufacturers (PCBA fab, metallic manufacturing, assembly) to develop repeatable processes for quick-turn development and at-scale production - Work hands-on with technicians and engineers to build prototype hardware - Contribute to end-customer hardware mechanical and electrical design, including interconnects and board fabrication - Travel to suppliers for sourcing, production problem-solving, and quality implementation This role thrives in a fast-paced, resource-limited environment where you demonstrate holistic ownership of technical challenges with creative, physical solutions. REQUIREMENTS: - Degree in a technical field (engineering, math, or hard science) - 2+ years of experience in a relevant field, preferably manufacturing or design of electromechanical hardware - Demonstrated ability to creatively deliver electromechanical hardware in resource-constrained environments - Demonstrated in-kind or direct team leadership skills with backing examples - Personal hands-on experience physically manufacturing hardware via machining, fabrication, soldering, assembly, or similar (personal/extracurricular projects valued) - Genuine interest in manufacturing and thirst for learning - U.S. Person status required (position requires access to export-controlled data) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - PCBA fabrication experience including prior work with or setup/modification/monitoring of SMT processes - Hands-on experience with R/C and/or autonomous flight vehicles, flight controllers, or related control systems - Software scripting experience in any language
