Anduril Industries is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to serve as the first line of defense on the Imaging production floor. This is a hands-on, floor-embedded sustaining role focused on the assembly, integration, and test of discrete electromechanical and optomechanical systems.
You will be responsible for rapidly responding to and resolving in-line production issues, keeping downtime to an absolute minimum. Key responsibilities include triaging and closing production downtime and non-conformance issues by coordinating across engineering, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams. You'll manage the digital operations of the line, handling day-to-day updates and troubleshooting within ERP and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to ensure accurate production tracking, data integrity, and inventory flow.
The role requires performing rapid debugging, testing, and root-cause analysis on failing hardware and processes, implementing containment measures, and driving corrective and preventive actions. You'll escalate systemic issues to design and quality teams and partner hands-on with technicians and assemblers daily, capturing assembly friction points and feeding improvements back into process and design.
Additional responsibilities include creating and maintaining clear work instructions, SOPs, and rework procedures, ensuring ECO/ECN change implementations are managed correctly on the production floor, and analyzing line data to surface recurring failures and bottlenecks to drive continuous improvement in yield, throughput, and first-pass quality.
Required qualifications include a degree in mechanical, electrical, systems, or industrial engineering or a related hard science, plus 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting an active production line in manufacturing, production, process, sustainment, or industrial engineering. You must have demonstrated hands-on experience troubleshooting, testing, and assembling electromechanical hardware in a live production environment, and experience utilizing and managing data within MES and ERP platforms. Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance is required.
Preferred qualifications include experience in aerospace/defense or another regulated, high-reliability industry, familiarity with ISO 9001/AS9100 quality systems, experience with optical/opto-mechanical system integration and test, and experience in high-growth or startup manufacturing environments combined with mature-production rigor.
