Anduril Industries is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to serve as the first line of defense on the Imaging production floor. This hands-on, floor-embedded sustaining role focuses on the assembly, integration, and test of discrete electromechanical and optomechanical systems. You will rapidly respond to and resolve in-line production issues, keeping downtime to an absolute minimum. Key responsibilities include triaging and closing production downtime and non-conformance issues by coordinating across engineering, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams. You'll own day-to-day digital administration of the line, managing ERP and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to ensure accurate production tracking, data integrity, and inventory flow. The role demands hands-on debugging, testing, and root-cause analysis on failing hardware and processes. You will implement containment measures, drive corrective and preventive actions, and escalate systemic issues to design and quality teams. Daily collaboration with technicians and assemblers will help you capture assembly friction points and feed improvements back into process and design. You will create and maintain clear work instructions, SOPs, and rework procedures, ensuring ECO/ECN change implementations are managed correctly on the production floor. Additionally, you'll analyze line data to surface recurring failures and bottlenecks, driving incremental improvements to yield, throughput, and first-pass quality. Required: Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, systems, or industrial engineering (or related hard science); 5+ years of hands-on production line support experience; demonstrated troubleshooting and assembly experience with electromechanical hardware; MES/ERP platform experience; eligibility for U.S. Secret security clearance. Preferred: Aerospace/defense or regulated high-reliability industry experience; ISO 9001/AS9100 quality systems knowledge; optical/opto-mechanical system integration and test experience; high-growth startup manufacturing combined with mature-production rigor.
