Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. This Manufacturing Engineer role is embedded on the production floor as the first line of defense for the Imaging production line, responsible for keeping hardware moving by rapidly troubleshooting in-line issues, driving down downtime, and resolving technical and process problems that stand between production and shipping product. You will own the response process when the production line goes down, triaging and driving closure on production downtime and non-conformance issues while coordinating with engineering, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams. Key responsibilities include performing rapid debugging, testing, and root-cause analysis (RCA) on failing hardware and processes; implementing containment and corrective/preventive actions; escalating systemic issues to design and quality teams; partnering hands-on with technicians and assemblers to capture assembly friction points and feed improvements back into process and design; creating and maintaining clear work instructions, SOPs, and rework procedures; ensuring ECO/ECN change implementations are managed and executed correctly and on time; and analyzing line data to surface recurring failures and bottlenecks to drive incremental improvements to yield, throughput, and first-pass quality. This is a hands-on, floor-dedicated sustaining role focused on the assembly, integration, and test of discrete electromechanical and optomechanical systems. REQUIREMENTS: - Degree in a technical field such as mechanical, electrical, systems, or industrial engineering, or a related hard science - 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting an active production line in manufacturing, production, process, sustainment, or industrial engineering - Demonstrated, hands-on experience troubleshooting, testing, and assembling electromechanical hardware in a live production environment - Demonstrated experience utilizing and managing data within MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) and ERP platforms to track yields, routing, and inventory - Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience in aerospace/defense or another regulated, high-reliability industry, including familiarity with defense terminology and processes - Exposure to ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality systems - Familiarity with optical / opto-mechanical system integration and test - Experience in a high-growth or startup manufacturing environment combined with mature-production rigor - Familiarity with PLM and WMS platforms
