Anduril Industries is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to serve as the first line of defense on the Imaging production floor. This is a hands-on, floor-embedded sustaining role focused on the assembly, integration, and test of discrete electromechanical and optomechanical systems.
You will rapidly respond to, diagnose, and resolve in-line production issues across assembly, integration, and test phases, keeping downtime to an absolute minimum. You'll own the triage and closure of production downtime and non-conformance issues, coordinating with engineering, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to restore flow quickly.
Key responsibilities include managing digital line operations through ERP and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to ensure accurate production tracking, data integrity, and inventory flow. You'll perform root-cause analysis on failing hardware and processes, implement containment measures, and drive corrective and preventive actions. You'll work hands-on with technicians and assemblers daily, capturing assembly friction points and feeding improvements back into process and design.
Additionally, you'll create and maintain work instructions, SOPs, and rework procedures to ensure the floor runs to current standards, manage ECO/ECN change implementations, and analyze line data to surface recurring failures and bottlenecks for continuous improvement in yield, throughput, and first-pass quality.
Required: Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, systems, industrial engineering, or related hard science. 5+ years of hands-on production line support experience in manufacturing, production, process, sustainment, or industrial engineering. Demonstrated hands-on experience troubleshooting, testing, and assembling electromechanical hardware in a live production environment. Experience with MES and ERP platforms for tracking yields, routing, and inventory. Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Preferred: Aerospace/defense or regulated high-reliability industry experience. Familiarity with ISO 9001/AS9100 quality systems. Experience with optical/opto-mechanical system integration and test. Background in high-growth or startup manufacturing combined with mature-production rigor.
