Vanta is seeking an experienced Manager of Security Operations to lead the Security Operations team, reporting to the Director of Security. The role focuses on building and scaling a world-class security operations function within a Series D AI-first security platform company.
Key responsibilities include leading and growing a team of security operations analysts, defining and executing the security operations strategy, and leveraging AI to improve team efficiency and security maturity. You will lead incident response from detection through remediation and prevention, identify and implement new security processes, and evaluate emerging threats and technologies. The role requires cross-functional collaboration to maintain compliance and advance the organization's security posture.
Success in this role requires strong leadership experience managing security teams with a foundation of transparency and trust. You should have deep security operations expertise in SaaS and cloud environments, experience crafting detection and observability strategies, and familiarity with industry standards (GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST 800-53). Incident response experience, including acting as incident commander, is essential. The ideal candidate can assess security risks comprehensively, prioritize remediation aligned with business goals, and build strong internal partnerships. Comfort leveraging AI to amplify skills and improve efficiency is important.
