Archer Technologies is an aerospace company building all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for sustainable urban air mobility. As Manager of Quality Management System, you will lead the quality framework for Archer's first certified aircraft, Midnight, operating at the intersection of AS9100 certification and FAA 14 CFR Part 21 regulatory compliance.
You will author, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) including quality manuals, procedures, and work instructions across multiple Archer sites. You'll serve as the primary quality liaison with the FAA during Production Certification, supporting conformity inspections and airworthiness certificate issuance. You will establish and govern a unified QMS framework across geographically dispersed sites, including standardized audit programs, cross-site corrective action processes, and site-level quality leadership structures.
Key responsibilities include leading internal and external audits with AS9100 third-party certification bodies and FAA surveillance audits; owning the Corrective Action Board (CAB) and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) process to drive systemic resolution of nonconformances; defining and reporting quality KPIs to senior leadership via Monthly Operations Reviews and real-time dashboards; and integrating quality into Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Flight Operations processes. You will partner with Archer's Certification and Safety Department on Safety Management System (SMS) and Type Certificate obligations, manage the QMS budget, and lead a geographically dispersed quality team.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial) with 7+ years leading quality teams in aerospace or regulated industries. You must have experience hiring, leading, and managing salaried and hourly employees; overseeing AS9100 certification implementation with in-depth knowledge of AS9102, AS9103, and AS9145; and direct experience establishing and leading CABs and supporting MOR quality reviews. Comprehensive quality leadership experience required across QMS, auditing, third-party certification, receiving and in-process inspection, product quality engineering, FMEA, RCCA, SPC, APQP, and quality inspection technology deployment.
Bonus qualifications include experience establishing real-time dashboards, flight line testing, FAA Production Certification processes, AS9100 Lead Auditor or Six Sigma certification, leading multi-site teams, and airworthiness assignment background.
