AEVEX is seeking a Manager of Quality Assurance to oversee the QA department and team at their Murrieta, California facility. This is a full-time, onsite role with no travel required.
You will manage three independent quality systems (FAA CRS, FAA PMA, and AS9100) in a business specializing in major aircraft modifications and repairs, R&D projects, parts manufacturing, and aerospace assembly. You'll lead a team of quality professionals including inspectors, specialists, and quality engineers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing creation, release, audit, and filing of project packages for all work performed under respective quality systems
- Managing generation of aircraft log entries, FAA Form 337s, Form 8130-3s, and Certificates of Conformance as required
- Managing facility training programs and personnel training files
- Maintaining and revising quality manuals and supplements in coordination with certificate management
- Ensuring adherence to all quality system requirements and regulatory/compliance standards
- Performing internal audits and supporting external audits from customers, foreign civil aviation authorities, and the FAA
- Managing document control for the Repair Station, FAA PMA, and AS9100
- Applying knowledge of manufacturing and maintenance bilaterals to ensure 14 CFR Part 21 parts certifications and Part 145 activities on foreign-registered aircraft
- Providing leadership, coaching, mentoring, and career development to your team
- Setting performance standards and maintaining transparent communication
Required qualifications:
- FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant (A&P) license(s)
- Solid understanding of Federal Aviation regulations, airworthiness directives, and FAA-approved maintenance/alteration documents
- Knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 21, 43, 65, 91, and 145
- Ability to read and interpret technical data, repair drawings, and engineering drawings
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented, organized, and strong work ethic
- Ability to provide direction and receive feedback from management
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a related field
- Experience with DCMA flight operations and ground operation procedures compliance
- Experience researching aircraft historical records and logbooks
Note: This position is safety-sensitive under 14 CFR 121 and requires full compliance with the company's Antidrug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program.
