GitLab is seeking a Manager of Procurement to support the Chief Technology Officer, Chief Information Security Officer, and Chief Information Officer organizations. This role focuses on strategic sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiations for critical technology suppliers, particularly software, cloud infrastructure, and hyperscaler partnerships.
Key responsibilities include leading strategic sourcing and contract negotiations for software, cloud, infrastructure, and consulting suppliers; developing category and sourcing strategies aligned with executive priorities; managing relationships with critical suppliers including hyperscalers and cloud partners; conducting spend analysis and market intelligence research; developing category-specific KPIs and performance metrics; collaborating with Finance Business Partners on demand forecasting and budget management; evaluating procurement options with stakeholders; and improving procure-to-pay processes to enhance efficiency and reduce cycle times. The role also involves exploring how artificial intelligence can support procurement processes, analysis, and negotiation preparation.
Required qualifications include 5-7 years of procurement experience with at least 3 years in category management; experience in strategic sourcing, vendor management, and complex contract negotiation; expertise procuring SaaS, cloud infrastructure, or other technical products; working knowledge of cloud hosting and technology contract terms; understanding of procure-to-pay processes and systems (Zip experience preferred); ability to build trusted partnerships with executives and cross-functional stakeholders; strong communication skills; collaborative and self-directed approach; bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field; strong financial acumen and analytical capabilities; advanced project management skills; and proven track record of delivering measurable cost savings. Experience in software or technology businesses is preferred.
