Voyager Space is seeking a Manager of IT Operations & Delivery to lead the company's IT operations function and report directly to the Chief Information Officer. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for building and scaling IT service delivery across a rapidly growing, geographically distributed organization in the defense and space technology sector.
Key responsibilities include leading the IT operations team (service desk, Tier 1–3 support, identity and access management, device lifecycle management, and onboarding/offboarding); building a high-performing team with clear SLAs, escalation frameworks, and accountability standards; partnering with cybersecurity to ensure compliance with CMMC, ITAR, and EAR requirements; managing vendor relationships and MSPs; configuring and optimizing the IT Service Desk platform for auto-triage and performance visibility; owning device management and inventory across multiple sites; and developing user training programs.
The role emphasizes an AI-first approach to scaling support operations and modernizing the IT ticketing experience. You'll work across five primary locations (Long Beach, Houston, San Diego, Denver, Folsom) with regular travel to operational sites required.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field plus 3 years IT operations/management experience (or 5 years without degree); 5+ years leading IT operations or high-volume ticket teams in complex, multi-site environments; technical expertise in IT service desk solutions; proven ability to design and operate distributed, multi-site IT environments; demonstrated success building and developing technical talent in high-growth settings; strong executive communication and cross-functional stakeholder management.
Preferred: Experience with Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID, Halo, Zendesk, ServiceNow, Jira, or similar enterprise tools; zero-trust architecture knowledge; ITIL, ITSM, or relevant certifications.
