Robinhood is seeking a Manager of Data Science for its Finance & Strategy organization. This role leads a specialized data science team focused on using advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI to generate actionable insights and improve business decision-making across the company.
You will lead and develop a high-performing team of data scientists and analytics engineers, setting technical direction and priorities while partnering with leaders across Finance, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Research, and Operations. The role combines strong people leadership, technical depth, and business judgment to identify high-impact opportunities and elevate analytics quality and scalability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of data scientists and analytics engineers; operating as a player-coach who remains hands-on in code and ships work alongside the team
- Fostering a culture of technical excellence, strong business judgment, experimentation, and clear accountability
- Leading Robinhood's NPS program end-to-end: survey design, sampling and weighting, key driver analysis, verbatim analysis, and executive reporting
- Overseeing the broader survey and research portfolio, including safety perception, brand/product sentiment, benchmarking, and trend tracking
- Making agentic workflows the default operating model by building durable shared infrastructure to delegate analysis, pipelines, QA, and recurring reporting to agents
- Driving both sides of the analytics stack: rigorous data science (measurement, experimentation, modeling) and analytics engineering foundation (pipelines, tooling, data models)
- Partnering with cross-functional teams to translate complex business questions into scalable, trustworthy analytics
- Representing Finance & Strategy Data Science in leadership forums and shaping how Robinhood leverages data and AI for strategic decision-making
The role is based in Menlo Park, CA with in-person attendance expected 5 days per week. Robinhood emphasizes in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or related fields, including 2+ years of people management experience
- Strong technical expertise in SQL, Python, statistical analysis, experimentation, and advanced analytics
- Proven ability to translate complex business questions into rigorous analyses, actionable insights, and scalable data solutions
- Experience developing measurement frameworks, predictive models, benchmarking, and other analytical approaches that inform business and strategic decisions
- Strong business judgment with a track record of partnering with Finance, Product, Engineering, Operations, and senior leadership
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex analyses, influence decisions, and build alignment across teams
- Experience building and developing high-performing teams of data scientists and analytics engineers
