Salary: USD 100,602 - 146,711 / annual
Oscar Health, a technology-driven health insurance company founded in 2012, is seeking a Manager of Network Contracting to lead a team focused on negotiating and executing contracts with large national and complex healthcare providers and systems. This role is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the provider network while meeting accessibility, quality, and financial goals across the Northeast region (NJ, NY, PA, VA).
The Manager will oversee a small team of contracting associates and specialists, providing strategic direction, mentorship, and performance management. Key responsibilities include implementing contracting strategies aligned with network adequacy and cost management objectives; negotiating favorable contract terms with healthcare providers while ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards; conducting comprehensive contract reviews and analyses to identify optimization opportunities; and utilizing data analytics on provider financials and competitor strategies to inform negotiation decisions.
Additionally, the role involves monitoring key metrics for network performance, cost, and provider satisfaction; ensuring timely resolution of provider disputes related to contract terms and reimbursement; building and maintaining positive relationships with healthcare providers; and implementing contracting policies and workflows to ensure efficient processes.
The position is remote-based with frequent local travel for client meetings and occasional travel for team meetings and company events. Candidates must reside in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, or Virginia. The role reports to the Director of Network Contracting & Services.
Required qualifications include 4+ years in healthcare network contracting (health systems, hospitals, national providers, provider relations, or network management); 2+ years managing complex provider network strategies and negotiating complex contracts; 2+ years of people management experience; and 2+ years in health insurance (Individual and/or Medicare Advantage) or healthcare industry. A bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
