As Manager of Manufacturing Test Engineering, you will lead the manufacturing test engineering team responsible for ensuring rigorous testing protocols and consistent delivery of superior quality products. You will oversee production systems supporting high-volume products across Anduril's portfolio, with strategic oversight of test throughput and tactical management of manufacturing operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Direct and manage the manufacturing test engineering team, setting objectives and assessing outcomes
- Architect and oversee manufacturing test strategy for each product, ensuring scalable operations from pre-production (LRIP) through full-scale output (FRP)
- Strategize and implement advancements in manufacturing testing, focusing on automation, uniformity, and operational streamlining
- Evaluate test data and identify opportunities for product and process enhancements
- Communicate strategic vision to stakeholders regarding platform scaling
- Collaborate with product development on design testability and production integration
- Lead procurement and implementation of new test equipment, performing cost-benefit and ROI analyses
- Champion initiatives that enhance safety, reduce costs, improve quality, and increase productivity
- Cultivate a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability
- Serve as technical authority for manufacturing test matters, troubleshooting complex issues
- Design proactive maintenance and calibration protocols for test equipment
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience leading manufacturing test engineering; expertise in Linux, C#, Python, and NixOS; solid experience with PCBA/electronic assembly testing; proficiency with electronic test equipment; strong analytical skills for root cause analysis; familiarity with PLM, MES, and TES systems; experience managing integrated electrical, mechanical, and software/firmware projects; and an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree, demonstrated ability to lead manufacturing test systems and teams, proficiency in LabVIEW and MATLAB, knowledge of PCBA and mechanical design, familiarity with hardware communication protocols, and experience with HASS and ESS-related testing.
Note: This role will be based temporarily at Santa Ana, CA for a 3-month training period before transitioning to Asheville, OH.
