FlixBus is seeking a Manager Infrastructure Development to lead the strategic planning and execution of critical infrastructure for FlixTrain, their rail transport division across Germany and Europe. In this role, you will manage a team developing strategies for building and securing long-term infrastructure that supports reliable, economical, and scalable rail operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading your team in developing infrastructure strategies and shaping FlixTrain's future
- Independently planning and executing infrastructure projects while managing external partnerships
- Overseeing maintenance depots, storage facilities, and service stations that form the foundation of reliable rail operations
- Collaborating with internal departments and external stakeholders to develop innovative solutions balancing cost-efficiency with high availability
- Rapidly assessing new topics, critically evaluating concepts and expert reports, and deriving strategic recommendations
You will work in a dynamic, international environment where your ideas have real impact. The role requires close coordination with internal teams and external partners to deliver complex infrastructure projects that support FlixTrain's growth across Europe.
Required qualifications:
- University degree in fields such as industrial engineering, economics, civil engineering, transportation, or equivalent
- Several years of professional experience in strategy consulting, project management, startup environments, or similar strategic project execution
- Strong analytical thinking and structured, solution-oriented work approach
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with ability to work effectively across stakeholder groups
- Fluent German and English (both C1 level minimum)
