Arista Networks seeks a Manager of Electrical New Product Engineering (ENPIE) to lead a specialized team of 8–10 Electrical NPI Engineers. This is a highly technical, hands-on leadership role focused on translating advanced electrical designs from prototype through high-volume manufacturing.
You will serve as the primary technical bridge between internal Hardware and Mechanical Engineering teams and external Contract Manufacturing (CM) partners. Working closely with Engineering, Product Operations Managers, and cross-functional teams, you will ensure that high-performance, high-layer-count PCA designs achieve production readiness while maintaining design for manufacturability, reliability, and quality throughout the product lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the team in driving new PCA designs with Hardware Engineering, identifying and resolving design-for-manufacturability (DFM) issues for SMT, PCB assembly, and system integration
- Optimize complex, high-layer-count PCB manufacturing, including advanced structures and large BGAs
- Oversee process validation, troubleshooting, and failure analysis
- Support NPI from prototype through full production and end-of-life phases
- Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and version control using PLM systems (Propel)
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to boost yields, reduce costs, and enhance quality
- Develop and enforce best practices for SMT and PCB assembly, ensuring compliance with IPC and regulatory standards
- Collaborate cross-functionally with supply chain and procurement teams for efficiency and optimized inventory management
Arista Networks is an industry leader in data-driven, client-to-cloud networking for large data center, campus, and routing environments. The company is known for relentless innovation in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and software-defined networking.
REQUIREMENTS:
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering preferred; Manufacturing Engineering acceptable with proper engineering experience. PCA Design/Layout experience is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in NPI engineering, specializing in Advanced SMT, High Layer Count PCB assembly (30+ layers), prototype and production-level DFM
- Working knowledge and experience with PLM systems (Agile, Propel preferred) and ECO/MCO/DEV/PCN processes (required)
- Strong background in debugging circuits on the bench, troubleshooting, failure/root cause analysis, and 8D methodology
- Excellent leadership, mentoring, problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and communication skills
HIGHLY PREFERRED:
- 5+ years of experience leading an electrical NPI manufacturing engineering team
- Experience with large form-factor BGA components, high-layer-count advanced PCB structures, and liquid-cooled products
- Knowledge of data center equipment lifecycle management, PCB and component-level coordination from new product introduction through production and end-of-life
- Experience reviewing PCB layout files in Allegro or other viewers
