Supplier.io is a data foundation platform that helps enterprises manage supplier decisions. The company provides supplier identity resolution, enrichment, and continuous maintenance for Fortune 2000 companies, enabling corporate procurement, finance, and compliance teams to manage vendor masters, source diverse suppliers, and mitigate risk.
The Manager, DevOps is a hands-on leader responsible for setting direction, building durable processes, and developing the team that keeps Supplier.io's cloud platforms reliable, secure, and cost-efficient. This role manages and grows the DevOps team while staying close to the technology, with accountability measured on the systems and processes established.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own the DevOps roadmap and delivery commitments across all environments as the single point of accountability for DevOps direction and priorities
- Manage, coach, and develop the DevOps team; own hiring, role definition, interviewing, and onboarding
- Establish and enforce core operational processes: change management, release management, environment promotion standards, incident response, postmortems, on-call coverage, and documentation standards
- Bring legacy, undocumented infrastructure under version control and documentation; own disaster recovery and business continuity planning with defined RTO/RPO objectives
- Bring planning discipline to the function through sprint planning, estimation, and clear delivery commitments
- Define and drive observability strategy with centralized visibility across all environments, including monitoring, logging, alerting, and APM standards
- Own the cloud cost optimization program: committed-use discounts, compute and database right-sizing, and reduction of logging and storage costs
- Drive security and compliance hygiene in partnership with the security function: least-privilege access, access reviews, key rotation, certificate automation, and vulnerability remediation
- Stay hands-on: build and review CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and Kubernetes workloads alongside the team; lead by example on technical standards
- Partner with Data Engineering to own infrastructure and tooling for data pipelines: Snowflake administration, Airflow orchestration infrastructure, and secrets/connection management
- Coordinate with the STAC on infrastructure decisions (cloud architecture, Kubernetes, CI/CD tooling) to align with company-wide architecture standards
- Participate in on-call rotation alongside the team, especially early on, to stay close to systems and set response quality standards
- Build a culture of automation, accountability, and continuous improvement across the DevOps team and broader engineering organization
- Partner with software development, data engineering, AI, and platform teams to keep environments consistent and delivery fast, safe, and reliable
- Evaluate emerging tools and practices; make pragmatic decisions about what to build, buy, and adopt
Requirements:
- 10+ years in DevOps, cloud engineering, or infrastructure roles with progressive responsibility
- 3+ years leading or managing engineers with hiring, coaching, and performance responsibility
- Deep hands-on expertise in Kubernetes, CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar), and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Strong experience with observability tools (Datadog, New Relic, Prometheus, ELK, or similar)
- Experience with Snowflake and data pipeline infrastructure
- Familiarity with CI/CD for data pipelines and AI/MLOps practices
- Ability to manage and grow a team while staying hands-on with technology
- Experience building high-functioning DevOps practices and bringing structure and accountability to teams without slowing them down
