Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Manager of Demand & Supply Planning to lead its Planning team in Costa Mesa, California. The Planning team is responsible for coordinating material and builds to support the rapid iteration and production of cutting-edge defense hardware, including static equipment, mobile ground equipment, and flight vehicles.
In this role, you will manage a team of Demand & Supply Planners and execute Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes while providing in-depth analysis to business partners. You will be responsible for sending accurate signals to Purchasing and Manufacturing regarding what and when to buy or build for each supported product line. This is a strategic hire aimed at transforming the S&OP process, driving operational excellence, and enhancing the company's ability to forecast, plan, and execute with greater precision.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing supply and demand plans aligned with sales forecasts and business strategies; leading the planning team to ensure efficient execution; collaborating across sales, operations, and finance to gather forecasting data; communicating complex scenarios to executives for strategic decision-making; managing inventory levels to meet service targets while minimizing excess; monitoring supplier performance and addressing supply chain disruptions; optimizing planning processes through continuous improvement; implementing planning systems and tools; defining KPIs for the function; preparing performance reports including inventory metrics and risk assessments; and supporting new product launches through cross-functional coordination.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a technical or business field; 8+ years in supply chain or production roles within fast-paced manufacturing environments with complex mechanical/electrical assemblies; 3+ years managing a direct team; demonstrated ownership of complex value chains with coordination across multiple parties; experience with ERP systems (Oracle, NetSuite) and CRM systems (Salesforce); strong technical expertise including ability to read technical documentation, drawings, and CAD data; understanding of hardware manufacturing processes for electronics and structures/mechanisms; willingness to travel up to 25%; and ability to relocate to Costa Mesa if not already local.
Preferred qualifications include a master's degree, strong SQL database experience with custom query building, and proficiency in data analysis tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlikview.
