As Manager of Data Engineering, you will lead a team of data engineers responsible for end-to-end ownership of data domains within Lighthouse's large-scale ingestion and transformation engine. Your team builds and maintains complex data pipelines handling massive data streams, unifying global hospitality data into a high-fidelity semantic layer that powers AI-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering technical excellence and long-term career growth
- Serve as technical guide for the team's technical development and collaboration while excelling in people management, organization, planning, and delivery
- Drive architecture, design, implementation, maintenance, and scaling of streaming and batch data pipelines ingesting and transforming massive data volumes
- Champion an AI-first development culture within the engineering team
- Identify, estimate, plan, and deliver continuous improvements in data quality, system stability, observability, pipeline performance, latency, and reliability
- Collaborate closely with product, other engineering teams, support, and business teams
Your team owns multiple data domains and integration types feeding the platform, responsible for ingesting and transforming structured and unstructured data streams into actionable data products for the hospitality industry.

Requirements:
- Proven track record managing engineering teams with passion for coaching and mentoring engineers
- Strong hands-on background in data engineering with deep experience in ETL/ELT, batch and streaming pipelines, complex data transformations, and data modeling
- Professional proficiency in Python for large-scale data processing and pipeline development
- Strong knowledge of data cloud technologies, data streaming systems (Google Cloud Pub/Sub, Kafka), and cloud database solutions (BigQuery, Spanner, Snowflake, Databricks)
- Fluency in English with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive, can-do attitude viewing challenges as opportunities
- Ability to see the bigger picture, break down large architectural projects into manageable tasks, and accurately estimate effort
- Forward-thinking builder viewing AI as core to modern architecture
- Proven interest or experience with LLMs, agentic workflows, or AI-assisted coding tools
- Energized by optimizing technical architectures, structure, tooling, and processes
Welcome (preferred):
- Experience building integrations with third-party APIs and external data sources
- Experience in hospitality technology sector or similar industries (e.g., airline)
