Ping Identity is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Manager to lead the day-to-day operational delivery of the Cyber Security Engineering team. This role is responsible for running security operations, ensuring the team has the capacity, structure, processes, and capabilities needed to protect enterprise systems and SaaS business areas.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate daily operational activities and build team capacity through improved planning, prioritization, and delegation
- Develop and mature team capabilities in incident response, detection engineering, automation, and security operations
- Lead, coach, and support team members while fostering continuous improvement
- Design, develop, and implement incident response processes and playbooks
- Support incident response coordination across multi-disciplinary teams
- Provide technical and operational leadership in assessing system design, change, and operational risk
- Participate in and improve the team's on-call rotation, including escalation and operational readiness
- Lead the design and implementation of engineered security solutions that are reliable, maintainable, and scalable
- Guide detection engineering activities across enterprise and SaaS environments
- Identify operational gaps and translate them into clear, workable solutions
- Align team priorities with broader CSE vision, roadmap, and strategy
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, infrastructure, product, and operations teams
Required qualifications include experience leading or managing security operations, security engineering, incident response, or technical operations teams. Strong background in operational delivery, prioritization, planning, and continuous improvement is essential. Incident response experience with complex multi-team coordination is required. Technical skills should include automation (SOAR tooling and scripting), SIEM systems (preferably Google Chronicle and YARA-L), cloud environments (AWS/GCP), container technologies (Kubernetes/Docker), and EDR tools. Experience leading cross-functional projects and influencing teams outside direct reporting is valued.
