Anthropic is seeking a Manager of Corporate Network Engineering to lead the design, build, and operation of the company's global corporate network infrastructure. This role owns the wired, wireless, and edge networking across Anthropic's offices and research facilities worldwide, applying production-grade reliability standards: designed for failure, managed as code, observable end-to-end, and secure by default.
You will set technical direction for campus and edge networking architecture, own final decisions on standards, and guide your team through complex design reviews and trade-offs. You'll lead and grow a small but high-impact team of network engineers, managing hiring, development, performance, and prioritization. The scope is broad: from wiring-closet decisions to budget defense, requiring both deep technical expertise and business acumen.
Key responsibilities include leading the team's growth and development; establishing architecture standards for switching, wireless, segmentation, out-of-band management, and telemetry; owning reliability and operations including monitoring, incident response, and on-call models; moving the fleet toward network-as-code with templated configuration and automation; partnering with Security Engineering on authentication and segmentation; delivering networks for new offices and research facilities through live migrations; and managing vendor, carrier, and integrator relationships plus the network hardware budget.
You should have 10+ years designing and operating enterprise campus and edge networks across multiple regions, plus 5+ years leading engineers with at least 3 years as a people manager. You lead through technical judgment, can navigate security-versus-usability trade-offs, and have hands-on operational experience including out-of-band access, monitoring, on-call models, and change safety. You're pragmatic about build-versus-buy decisions, communicate clearly across engineering and executive audiences, and can bring alignment among strong-willed senior engineers. Strong candidates may have led corporate networking at rapidly scaling companies, implemented certificate-based authentication and device-based segmentation at scale, shipped network configuration as code, designed dense wireless for high-occupancy spaces, or managed multiple office buildouts.
