SmithRx is a venture-backed health-tech company disrupting the Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) sector with a next-generation drug acquisition platform. As Manager of Benefit Operations Testing & QA, you will lead and develop a team of benefit configuration specialists responsible for building and managing pharmacy benefit plans across various platforms. This is a core role within the Plan Operations team, driving high-quality product delivery and operational excellence.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing team members in benefit configuration, testing, and documentation to meet or exceed service level agreements
- Conducting performance management through scorecards and metrics, providing coaching and feedback
- Scheduling employees, tracking productivity, managing work schedules, and approving time off
- Driving process improvements and implementing best practices within the function
- Working with clients to understand benefit plan requirements and build/maintain pharmacy benefit plans
- Monitoring plan data integrity and ensuring proper benefit configuration organization
- Providing leadership support for escalations and complex configuration requests
- Communicating project status to leadership and driving workflow efficiency improvements
- Ensuring timely resolution of inquiries from internal teams like member support and customer success
You will bring 5+ years of leadership experience with direct reports (preferably in remote settings) and 8+ years of working knowledge in pharmacy benefits, benefit configuration, healthcare benefits, or claims processing. You demonstrate executive-level communication skills, ability to navigate conflict, and a coaching-oriented approach to team development. You are execution-focused, solutions-oriented, and passionate about operational excellence and process improvement. Document management experience is preferred.
