Brex is seeking a Manager of Banking Operations to lead a team responsible for payment monitoring and money movement across the platform. This role sits at the center of Brex's operations, overseeing critical payment rails including Fedwire, SWIFT, ACH, checks, and stablecoins.
You will lead a team of Banking Operations analysts, setting priorities, coaching performance, and building a high-accountability culture grounded in sound judgment, accuracy, and strong documentation standards. Key responsibilities include overseeing payment monitoring and exception management, building scalable operating frameworks for onboarding and quality assurance, and advancing AI adoption across the team to improve speed and control.
You'll partner closely with Compliance, Legal, Product, Engineering, and external banking partners to strengthen controls and support operational readiness for new workflows. The role requires translating frontline insights into actionable recommendations for leadership, identifying root causes, and driving continuous improvement through automation and process refinement.
Required qualifications include 5+ years of experience in US banking operations, payments operations, or compliance operations within a bank, fintech, or regulated financial services environment. You must have 2+ years of people management experience with a track record of coaching employees and building strong teams. Working knowledge of high-risk money movement workflows and payment rails is essential, as is practical fluency with AI tools such as Claude, Hex, Granola, and Glean.
The role is based in San Francisco with a hybrid work arrangement requiring a minimum of three coordinated days in the office per week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday), with up to four weeks per year of fully remote work available.
