Brex is seeking a Manager of Banking Operations to lead a team at the center of how money moves through its Intelligent Finance Platform. This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, compliance, and customer success, owning critical payment monitoring and money movement functions. You will lead a team of Banking Operations analysts, setting priorities, coaching performance, and building a high-accountability culture grounded in sound judgment, accuracy, and strong documentation standards. Your responsibilities include overseeing payment monitoring across Fedwire, SWIFT, ACH, checks, and stablecoins, ensuring alerts, exceptions, and escalations are reviewed on time and resolved with clear, risk-based decisions. Key responsibilities: - Lead and develop a team of analysts, establishing priorities and building accountability - Oversee payment monitoring across multiple rails (Fedwire, SWIFT, ACH, checks, stablecoins) - Build scalable operating frameworks for onboarding, quality assurance, escalation management, and coverage planning - Identify high-impact AI use cases and drive thoughtful adoption of AI tools to improve speed, quality, and control - Partner with Compliance, Legal, Product, Engineering, and external banking partners to strengthen controls and support operational readiness - Drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis, procedure refinement, and automation - Translate frontline insights into clear reporting and actionable recommendations for leadership Required qualifications: - 5+ years in US banking operations, payments operations, compliance operations, or related function in a bank, fintech, or regulated financial services environment - 2+ years of people management experience with a track record of coaching employees and building strong, accountable teams - Working knowledge of high-risk money movement workflows and payment rails (wires, ACH, checks, SWIFT, or similar transaction monitoring) - Practical fluency with AI tools (Claude, Hex, Granola, Glean) and strong perspective on AI's role in improving team effectiveness and operational scale - Strong judgment and ability to assess risk and make sound decisions in complex, high-stakes environments The role is based in Seattle with a hybrid work arrangement requiring a minimum of three coordinated days in the office per week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday), with up to four weeks per year of fully remote work available.
