Datadog is seeking a Manager for Technical Enablement Management (TEM) to lead a distributed team across Asia-Pacific and ANZ. The TEM team empowers customers through technical training, ensuring they maximize value from Datadog's observability and security platform.
In this role, you will own the enablement strategy for Sales and Customer Success teams across APJ, driving adoption and revenue impact. You'll develop and coach Technical Enablement Managers reporting to you, strengthen cross-functional relationships, and evolve enablement programs to support customer success.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning positioning and enablement strategy for APJ Sales and Customer Success, driving attach rates and consumption of training offerings
- Building demand by engaging Sales and Customer Success teams at scale, keeping materials current, and driving consistent use of request processes
- Acting as quality gate for incoming work, scoping requests appropriately and aligning demand to business needs
- Analyzing customer training adoption and feedback to evaluate program ROI and inform scaling decisions
- Developing sales tools and enablement resources to help internal teams position training to customers
- Driving consistency in training delivery, content utilization, and reporting across the team
- Building and maintaining intake, capacity-planning, and process mechanisms including questionnaires, triage, and prioritization frameworks
- Leading, coaching, and mentoring TEMs across APJ through regular 1:1s, performance evaluations, and session shadowing
- Monitoring team KPIs (utilization, CSAT, productivity, delivery, attendance) and assigning workload to achieve 80% productivity targets
- Championing AI tools to improve productivity in content creation, session prep, reporting, and QA
- Actively participating in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding
- Collaborating with Technical Solutions, Sales, Customer Success, Engineering, and Product teams
Datadog operates as a hybrid workplace. The role requires up to 25% travel across APJ to drive enablement adoption and team development.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experienced people manager, results-driven with focus on executing strategies that drive measurable business impact and revenue growth
- Strong coach and mentor who invests in career development and builds inclusive, high-performing teams; experience authoring career progression frameworks, structured onboarding, and consistent coaching cadence
- Demonstrated success building demand for services or enablement functions by proactively engaging Sales and Customer Success (not waiting for inbound requests), with measurable before/after results
- Clear communicator who can influence without authority and align stakeholders around common goals
- Energized by bringing services to new internal audiences and making compelling cases repeatedly
- Able to hold priorities firmly when demands compete, renegotiating scope while maintaining relationships
- Deliberate about priorities with track record of choosing what not to take on and delegating effectively
- Culturally adaptable across Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, and ANZ, adjusting approach per market
- Direct and transparent, setting clear expectations and healthy boundaries; calm when plans change
- Exceptionally self-organized, owning scheduling, follow-up, and administrative rhythm
- Strategic thinker balancing customer needs with business goals, evaluating program ROI, driving cross-functional alignment; track record implementing scalable enablement programs in growing companies
- Data-driven, comfortable using metrics and KPIs to inform decisions and optimize performance
- Demonstrated capability utilizing AI tooling and scaling it; growth mindset embracing change and curiosity
- Technically proficient with knowledge of modern infrastructure, monitoring solutions, and cloud technologies
- 5+ years experience in Training, Presales, Post-Sales, Consulting, or other customer-facing roles with history of success
- Education in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
