Tripadvisor Group is seeking a Machine Learning Scientist to join its dynamic ML team supporting marketing initiatives. The role involves applying machine learning models to solve core business problems across marketing channels including paid, organic, search, demand creation, affiliates, and CRM. You will work with a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, analysts, software engineers, and product managers to identify new opportunities for ML application and drive business impact.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and deploying machine learning models to address marketing challenges such as bidding for online advertising, customer modeling, experimental design, revenue optimization, attribution, recommendations, and lifetime value prediction
- Automating ETL pipelines and maintaining production ML systems
- Designing and analyzing A/B tests to validate model performance and business impact
- Discovering new analytical approaches to interpret data and uncover insights
- Communicating experimental results and progress to both technical and business stakeholders
- Taking ownership of projects and identifying new problem spaces where ML can drive value

Requirements:
- PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related field (or Master's with 2+ years of practical experience)
- Strong background in machine learning and statistics with solid foundation in data structures and algorithms
- Proficiency in Python for numerical/statistical programming, particularly NumPy, Pandas, and Scikit-learn
- Knowledge of A/B test design and analysis
- Ability to interpret and write complex SQL queries
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hive and Spark
- Track record of leading model deployment and maintenance in production environments
- Hands-on experience with AI-powered tools
- Team player with excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Genuine interest in AI with demonstrated self-directed learning
