Remote is a global employment platform that helps organizations recruit, pay, and manage international teams compliantly. The company is hiring a Senior Occupational Health & Safety Specialist to join the Employee Lifecycle Operations team.
In this role, you will oversee occupational health and safety (OHS) compliance and operations across multiple European countries. You'll manage vendor partnerships with health centers, training providers, and OHS service providers, ensuring they deliver quality services and meet performance standards. Key responsibilities include executing OHS solutions across jurisdictions, serving as the internal point of contact for OHS questions, managing vendor relationships and performance, coordinating health assessments and safety training for employees, conducting country-level OHS audits, and developing improvements to existing procedures.
You will work with minimal supervision, providing guidance to junior team members and partnering with People and Legal teams to develop health and safety policies. The role requires identifying and onboarding new vendors, mapping and implementing new processes, and ensuring compliance with local regulations across different countries. You'll also champion Remote's values and the Lifecycle team's goals internally and externally.
The position reports to the Manager of Lifecycle: Occupational Health & Safety and is part of the Lifecycle Operations team. While the role is fully remote, preferred locations include Portugal, France, Italy, Germany, or the UK. You should have OHS certification or a degree in the field, multi-country European experience, vendor management expertise, strong project management and analytical skills, and fluent English proficiency. Additional languages are a plus.
