Remote is a global employment platform that helps organizations recruit, pay, and manage international teams compliantly. The company is seeking a Senior Occupational Health & Safety Specialist to join the Employee Lifecycle Operations team. In this role, you will oversee occupational health and safety (OHS) activities across multiple European countries, ensuring compliance and effective execution. You will identify, engage, and manage vendor partnerships for health and safety services, drive contracting processes, and coordinate the rollout of health and safety initiatives globally for Remote's employees. Key responsibilities include: - Managing OHS solutions across multiple jurisdictions with minimal supervision - Serving as the internal point of contact for OHS questions and mentoring junior team members - Managing relationships with OHS vendors, training partners, and health centers - Monitoring vendor performance through assessments and feedback - Leading employee engagement for health assessments and safety training - Coordinating and executing country-level OHS audits for regulatory compliance - Identifying and recommending improvements to OHS procedures and practices - Partnering with People and Legal teams on health and safety policy development - Championing Remote's values and team goals internally and externally - Managing employee data and confidential information with professionalism and discretion You bring OHS certification or a degree with multi-country European experience, vendor management expertise, strong analytical and project management skills, and the ability to work independently while communicating proactively. Fluent English is required; additional language proficiency is a plus. Remote work experience is preferred but not required. The role reports to the Manager of Lifecycle: Occupational Health & Safety and is based in EMEA with preferred locations in Portugal, France, Italy, Germany, or the UK. Start date is as soon as possible.
